Growth Philanthropy Network

Message from the Founders

Growth Philanthropy Network (GPN) has spent nearly three years developing a marketplace approach to scaling best-in-class social programs. As part of this process, we have cultivated more than 250 relationships with funders and philanthropy advisors across the country who share our interest in seeing outstanding programs reach national scale. Collectively these relationships represent thousands of funders and billions of dollars in annual giving. We are deeply grateful to the more than 400 leaders and experts who have given GPN advice and support during this development work.

It is, however, still unclear whether the capital market to support social program expansion that GPN, and others, have envisioned will come to fruition. The proof will be in the selection and actual funding, on a consistent basis, of high-impact, “growth-ready” organizations.

GPN’s initial goals are twofold: (1) to demonstrate the marketplace model with eight national expansions over three years, and (2) to build a large network of national and local capital providers that will support expansion initiatives.

To accomplish these goals will indeed require a collaborative effort by all of us who have a stake in the outcomes of an efficient capital market that finances the growth of our best social solutions. Success will depend on the help and active participation of a broad group of leaders and funders. Therefore, we invite all of you to explore our website and learn how you can participate!

We are deeply committed to collaborating with those who are already involved in scaling social programs and to sharing what we learn with the broader national community.

We have a unique opportunity before us, and we look forward to working with you on what we believe will be a transformative endeavor for the social sector.
